Testing SSMS 13.0.16000.28 (SSMS 2016).

Occasionally if I right click and go to "SQL Assistant" and then try and select something like Birds Eye View, it doesn't work. The hotkey still does (Shift-F12) though.

This usually requires a restart of SSMS to get it out of it's funk, but it eventually gets this way again over time. I've unregistered and re-registered the plugin in SQL Assistant options a couple times.

Most of the SQL Assistant menu gets this way, just not the stuff that opens a pane, even "Modify Target Options" can no longer be invoked from the context menu.

This is in the log, but I'm unsure if it's related. I did not get any exception popups in the taskbar like I have for other things.

Code:

I don't know if it's related, but submitted them both.
I believe you used to run SSMS 2008. It didn't happen in that version?

Can you please check if opening SQL Assistant views using the top level menu works for you?

I don't recall it doing that in 2008, but as I said in another thread I had moved mostly to SQL Editor with version 9 and decided to check out SSMS 2016 recently as well. Next time this happens I'll see if the top level pull down functions still work.

Neither the pull down menu up top or the right click context menu work. I just had it happen again.

Hot keys are still valid.
